Nourishing the Body Series - The Immune System

Facilitated by Dr. Leslie Keating – Naturopathic Doctor

Join us for the first workshop in our Nourishing The Body Series, where our Naturopathic Doctor, Leslie Keating will help participants come to a greater understanding of the immune system – what it is, what is is made up of, how it works and how to support and nourish it naturally with plant medicine, nutrition, and other tools.

Concepts will be kept simple and the focus will be on helping participants apply the information to their own life and body.

Handouts and pictures will be provided to supplement the information being presented.

The workshop will be part presentation, part discussion/Q&A, and part interactive where you will have the opportunity to sample nourishing herbal infusions and make and take home an immune stimulating herbal folk remedy called Fire Cider.

Participants will come to understand Dr. Keating’s practice and the way she acknowledges that our bodies are always attempting to self-heal and self-regulate.

Rather than attempting to manipulate or control the body, Leslie’s approach honors the body’s wisdom and serves to support and nourish what the body is already attempting to do for itself.

She aims to help patients understand how the body works by focusing on physiology and anatomy, how each of the systems interacts with and supports one another, and how to support the processes which are innate to our bodies.

Empowered Pleasers (4-Week Workshop Series)

Facilitated by Kelly Carrigan

Are you a woman who has been told you’re too sensitive? Do you hold things in because you feel speaking up gets you nowhere? Are you ready to speak confidently and be true to your feelings? If you answered yes to any of these questions, here are your next steps.

The Empowered Pleasers 4-week program helps women create the life they want! Program creator, Kelly Carrigan, empowers people pleasers to build self confidence and find their voice.

“For years, I saw my sensitivity as my biggest weakness, but once I realized my weakness was actually my greatest strength, that’s when it all changed for me,” says Kelly.

Kelly worked with a life coach for two years, before becoming a certified life coach herself. She needed to figure out how to take control of the steering wheel in her life, instead of always people pleasing.

“Whenever I would stand up for myself, I always felt worse. I wondered why that was. After years of researching, testing different theories and assessing the outcome, I realized my communication style was mostly passive and slightly passive-aggressive.

I was withholding from myself, thinking I was being mean if I stood up for myself. My conflict-phobic self would allow angry people to take what they wanted from me, in exchange for peace. I didn’t realize I was doing myself an injustice by putting other’s needs in front of my own.

My intuition would tell me not to, yet I would still move ahead with a relationship, or a job, or an uncomfortable situation. My intuition worked just fine, but I ignored it. And it was a pattern I had repeated since childhood.

Since then I’ve adopted assertiveness communication in my life and my relationships with myself and others have flourished. Now, I am willing to listen to my inner voice and speak up. I check in to see how I am feeling before I rush to someone’s needs. I am open to others ideas of what MIGHT be good for me, but I listen to my inner voice before making any decisions. Because I am the one who lives with the consequences of the choices I make.

I, and I alone, am responsible for the life I have and I want to share the tools I have learned with you so that you gain confidence to communicate your needs, and develop thriving relationships at home and at work. Will you join me?” ~ Kelly Carrigan

EMPOWERED PLEASERS PROGRAM:

Week 1- How to stop people pleasing.
Week 2- How to ask for what you want and get it.
Week 3- How to get people to take you seriously.
Week 4- How to love yourself and respect others.
